2012 a new year and a new lease on life!

This will be short. I retired in January and am now officially one of the great unwashed drawing my entitlements. Life is good. See Ya!

Christmas is a'comin

Well, its Nov. 29 and less than a month till Christmas. I'm glad my wife has the shopping all figured out. We should be almost finished with buying all the presents for this year and we aren't even in debt yet!
Anyway, I spent a couple of hours at the shooting range yesterday breaking in my new Ruger 10/22 rifle. I sent about 300 rounds down range and got the sighting pretty close, but not close enough. I think it'll take more time for me to get used to the scope and the proper alignment before the sight picture  will be correct.
Its 75 degrees outside right now and over cast. Tomorrow promises to be a bad weather day with rain, storms, and temperature drop during the day. Oh well, if the temperature doesn't drop how will I know if Christmas is here? See Ya!!!

Waiting for weather change

The weather man said it would be 50 degrees and sunny today. Well, I woke up to thunder, lightning and rain at 6 am. I was hoping to ride my motorcycle in to work today but the bad weather nixed that thought. The weather has been a controlling factor in my riding days this year. I'm too old to brave bad weather anymore and too lazy to change my ways now. Today was kind of exciting at work. I had my students pull out two old diesel engines and fire them up this morning. They hadn't run in about two years. When they finally started they smoked so bad they polluted the entire school and really smelled the place up. People were running for fire alarms and going crazy in the classrooms until the deputy finally calmed them down. It took about four hours to clear the smell out of most of the rooms. I'll see what I can do liven up their lives tomorrow!!

New Guy

What can I say? This is my first adventure into the blog-sphere so here goes. Today is October 26, 2010. My plans for this site are to entertain family and friends with the goings on around here and allow people to respond in kind about nothing or something.
 The 2010 mid-term elections are coming up in less than a week and as news-aholic I can hardly wait. Our country is being run into the ground by not liberals per-se, but fanatics who are power crazy and want to control our lives.
